Helping Clients After Severe Storm

After the severe storm on 6/29/2012, numerous clients were without Power and/or Internet and/or Phone Lines.  Downtown Computers was able to determine which clients were experiencing problems through our monitoring services.  We opened tickets with Time Warner, Wind Stream, AEP and numerous other providers, directly handled all service communications as well as monitored to know when services were restored.  This allowed our clients to concentrate on their business while Downtown Computers took care of their technology related issues.
THIS SERVICE COST NOTHING FOR OUR CLIENTS!  ALL OF THE LABOR WAS COVERED UNDER DTC MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT AGREEMENT. 

Dealing Directly With Client Internet Service Provider

Service Restored on a Holiday!

Challenge: Internet Service Provider Stating Internet Restored, But Client Still Has No Internet
Solution: Downtown Computers immediately knew our client had lost internet through our remote monitoring services.  We contacted the clients ISP, who stated that service has been restored.  After extensive discussion with higher level technical support at the ISP and our technician, it was determined this clients building had NOT been restored.  the ISP sent out a technician (On July 4th, a Holiday!) per Downtown Computers request and restored internet by the end of that day.
THIS SERVICE COST OUR CLIENT NOTHING!  ALL OF THE LABOR WAS COVERED UNDER DTC MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT AGREEMENT.

Challenge: A Medical Practice's Server Crashed. 

Solution:  This Client has a Downtown Computers Backup Disaster Recovery unit, so we were immediately notified their server was down.  We began virtualization (turning the Backup Disaster Recovery Unit into the server) as well as dispatched a technician to the site.  Within 2 hours the Medical Practice was back to running with full functionality.  This allowed Downtown Computers to remove the Server from the site and troubleshoot.  Downtown Computers found the hard drives that had failed were still under warranty.  Downtown Computers processed the warranty on the drives, re-installed the replacement drives and then returned the Server back to the Medical Practice and copied all information to the Repaired Server.  THIS SERVICE COST THE MEDICAL OFFICE NOTHING!  ALL OF THE LABOR WAS COVERED UNDER DTC MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT AGREEMENT.  The Hard Drives were covered under the Manufacturer's warranty.

Total Downtime under 2 hours.  Total cost to client ZERO!!

Software Support Services

Client Need: Apartment Complex gate system suddenly stopped working. 

Challenge: Software program used to control the gate system was very old and no longer supported.

Solution: Researched the software and fixed the issue so they could still use their gate system. THIS INCIDENT TOOK 8 HOURS TO RESOLVE AND WAS TOTALLY COVERED UNDER THE DTC MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT AGREEMENT!

Improve Access to Hospital Records

Client Needs: Medical Practice wanted a simpler way to access a Hospital System.  Their current procedure was to logon to the Hospital Website and then wait for an automated call to get a password. 

Challenge: See if there are additional options provided by the Hospital System.

Solution: Downtown Computers researched and worked with the Hospital's IT department and installed a system that allowed the Medical Practice to access the hospital system without having to wait for a Call Back from the Hospital's records system.  They now have access to the Hospital System.

Client Needs: Preschool needed a notebook computer in every classroom for teacher documentation. 

Challenge:  A way to securely store the notebook from children, potential theft or damage; Yet still allow the teacher to easily access and use the notebook during the day. 

Solution: Downtown Computers researched and found a locking, wall mountable Notebook Security Case that dropped down a shelf allowing the notebook to be used.  Downtown Computers ran the appropriate cabling, mounted the cases to the wall, and programmed the security cases so only staff members could access them.
